Entrusted to us by the eldest and Elder of the local Webb family, Nan Vivien Brockman-Webb, this story will be shared through a captivating blend of traditional and contemporary dance, movement, music, and storytelling.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC and inspired by the 2025 theme "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy", this vibrant performance unites students, artists, and community members in honouring the strength of Wardandi culture and language. Guided by Elder Vivien Brockman-Webb and Mitchella Hutchins, local creatives Weaving Stories of Boodja (Cara Ratajczak & Michelle Bretherton), choreographer Dale Kelly, Margaret River Primary School and local artists are bringing you a performance unlike no other.

This project is more than just 3 shows. Since the beginning of the year, students from Yr 1-6 have been in on a mindful, creative journey helping them to strengthen their connection to culture and country through a series of in-school and after-school workshops where they have been participating in Dordenup language lessons, the development of creative movement, acting, costume creation, set design and puppetry for the performance.

The Wooditjup Bilya Story is more than a performance — it’s a living legacy, a celebration of community, and a call to keep the stories and languages of the world’s oldest living culture strong.
