Wooden Block Printing Workshop

Block printing is an archaic form of printmaking, using hand carved blocks to transfer the ink to fabric on its raised surface. The result is often a bold pattern based print, it can be very simple and fun, or you can get quite technical with it.

Use the wooden block designs gathered from India by The Little Press to explore this fun way to print! Participants will be provided a length of fabric which can be made into something once you take it home. Feel free to bring along a t-shirt that you’d like to jazz up with some block prints!

No experience necessary, a very casual, easy workshop, using basic skills that can be re-created at home, which will result in some fun test prints and larger fabric piece to take home.
